4 soccer games, 10 basketball games in 3 days!

Just returned form Cincinnati, Ohio, where Zach's travel team the Metro Stars participated in the Mid America Soccer Classic tournament. They won there pool which sent them to the finals, where they won that and took first place in there division! Yeah Metro Stars.

Aaron in the mean time had a Basketball tournament here in Romeo where he played on two teams ( not sure how that happened, and have to get more details) they were not so successful but it was a great experience for him. He played up a level with one of the teams that put him against some JV and varsity players so he was excited to play at that level. I will have pictures and scores and all that fun stuff once we sort through what exactly happened where....

as it is today Zach has drivers training till 4:15 when I will pick up him, David, Saul and Sebi and take them down to Shelby where they have an indoor game, while Matt heads over to Aaron's Bball practice at 4;30.......this week also starts Micah and Noah's AYSO practices with there first games on Saturday- not sure how that is going to work since Zach also has games wed in Shelby, Friday in Saginaw and Saturday in Taylor- anyone want to carpool this week? I will pay you for gas! :)

Zach is number 18!

My life as a soccer mom

  • YOU KNOW YOU ARE A CRAZY SOCCER FAMILY WHEN....... ..
  • You have owned every style of camping chair ever made. ...
  • You have never met a linesman that knows how to call off-sides properly. ...
  • . ...Your kid takes a bloody wallop on the nose, and your first thought is that he needs to quit crying or be subbed because we're running out of time in the game. ..
  • You know where every elementary school, jr. high, high school, college and park with a soccer field is in the metro and you know where the closest Starbucks, bagel shop and Subway is to each of those fields ...
  • You know how to get to all of the above without getting lost. ...Your gas credit card bills are bigger than your 2nd mortgage ...
  • All of your vacation time is taken up by soccer events. No more beach vacations, unless your team gets invited to Surf Cup.
  • ...You know the closest grocery store to the practice fields because that is where you do your shopping ...
  • ...There are posters of Englishmen and Brazilians in your house. ...
  • ...You've forgotten where you go to church. ...
  • Your child's "good shoes" are her newest soccer cleats ...
  • You and your spouse spend all weekend driving to soccer games. In different cars & in different counties & with different kids. And talk on the cell phone only to compare scores. And don't see each other until Sunday night. ...
  • The kids on your team are 'feis ty', while the kids on the opposing team are 'dirty'. ...
  • You have been to several cities in the country that have wonderful tourist attractions, but while in these cities you have seen only soccer fields, hotels, rental car counters, and airports. ...
  • The mats on your car's rear floor are never free of dried grass and black turf pebbles. ...
  • You as soccer parents have a strict rule about "no removing shin guards inside of the car", Phew ...
  • You look forward to Monday so that you can go back to work/school and relax. ...

You have not celebrated your anniversary for 3 years because it always falls on a practice or game day. .... ...

On the rare weekend when your child does not have a game you look for something soccer related to do like going to the games of your friend's children. ...You begin to use words like football, pitch, boots, sides, fixtures and tables in a way that totally befuddles your non-soccer friends and family. ...

Your closest friends are those that you've met through soccer. . ..
You can recognize the most national team jerseys and the majority of major European club jerseys on sight ...when you register on a soccer forum.

When you wish you had bought stock in igloo because you own every shape & size of cooler and water bottle... ...When someone asks you how old your child is, you respond, "he's U15"

...you drive home from t he game complaining bitterly about the condition of the field and its adverse effect on your kids game only to pull into your driveway and have your spouse point out the 14 inch high grass which has not been mowed in 2 weeks

Noah

Okay so Noah does not live in a bubble.
After the week we had two weeks ago with
Micah's surgery and Aaron's stitches, Zach's
eye doctor appointment, I was putting Noah
in a bubble. It did not work. After a great
save as keeper in last weeks soccer game,
Noah sprained his arm. It could have been
worse, so we praise God that is was not.
After a few more days this thing can come off
and he will be back to new. 4 boys are incedibly
awesome but every once in a while mom needs
a break:)no pun inteneded! Coffee anyone?

Spring Soccer

Every Saturday we generally can be found at
the soccer field. Today was not exception.
With Zach and Aaron on the same team this year
we only have 3 games instead of 4. Our U-14 team
won 11-2, Zach scored 6 , Aaron had 1.

While their big brothers played on the soccer
field, Noah and Micah played behind the bleachers.
their friend Matthew Torres was with them
and I was able to catch this picture.

Aaron and Zach had some great team plays today.
I think they are finally getting the hang of how to
play together. It only took about 10 years of soccer.

So good as a matter of fact they even gave each
other some slaps.....Now that is saying something!

Noah had a good game too! They won 3-2 and
Noah had 1 point! He played keeper some as well
and is really excelling in that area. You should
see him kick the ball back. What a foot!

Not to be out done by his big brothers Micah
scored 1 point today as well. His team won 2-0.
He is one of the youngest on his team, so he was
pretty pumped to score in his first game of the
spring season.
Tackle It Tuesday Meme
