Mabey Memories

.
The desire of my heart is to become the person God dreams of and share those dreams with others; to unleash personal and corporate creativiy within the church, overflowing it with passion and freedom while searching for the face and character of God.

To Cold For School?

I charged my battery on the camera, packed a lunch, got everything ready last night so that I could be at the middle school by 8:10 this morning to go what seemed to be a promising day with a ton of 7th graders on a field trip for the King Tut exhibit; so you can imagine my disappointment when the phone rang at 4:45 am- yes you read that right- 4:45 am to tell us there was no school do to extreme temperatures today! what? it is too cold to go to school? not sure that ever happened to me when I was a kid but hey! a day off is a day off right? back to bed even if i was a little sulky cause I really wanted to go on that field trip. See I was not selected the first time around but two days ago got the call that another parent backed out so would I consider chaperoning. I was ecstatic! Of course I would go, since I had never missed a field trip! Now- if they do reschedule I am sure they will ask the first chaperon to go instead of me- see my dissapointment? Oh well- You should have seen tthe boys when they finally woke up, Micah came sneaking down the steps saying "you did not wake me"........Like he was going to get in trouble, it was the funniest thing. I think we will have pizza tonight!

Christmas Eve 2008

Christmas Eve at Pathway saw our very first Christmas Eve service "Unscrouged" it was a candlelight service....

The Team, Pastor Jim, Calvin, Joel and Matt

Matt and I

Matt and Micah

out of the darkness......

at home we promptly found the Cat in the Hat~
when was the last time you watched that? We usually watch the Christmas story since it is on for 24 hours but ~ i think it was a comfort thing, comical actually!

our tree before the chaos!

Micah getting the cookies and milk and carrots ready for Santa!

Over the years all the boys made these little nativity scenes with Mrs Hiller, their kindergarten teacher(yes, they all had her) it still goes out every year and this was no exception, however it is a compilation of all the boys handy work! cute huh? Thanks Mrs. Hiller!

and of course there is still the Happy Birthday Jesus Cake, eve if Calvin thinks it is cheesy!
That is what it is all about right? I do have another cake picture from Bonnie's house later that night but I think it is still on the camera, wait till you see that one!
