Mabey Memories

.
The desire of my heart is to become the person God dreams of and share those dreams with others; to unleash personal and corporate creativiy within the church, overflowing it with passion and freedom while searching for the face and character of God.

Happy Birthday Noah.

Noah turned 12 and celebrated by having
a few of his frineds over for a bonfire and
sleepover. We had a small cake and and
raosted hotdogs over the fire- it was a lot of fun! I an not believe he is 12! I took him over to the middle school for bulldog days and enrolled him in the 6th grade, he got his class scheduale and is overall excited to be going to middle school. It is a big change for mom- he is going to play floor hockey this year, this sport is new to me so I will have to learn but am excited for him. He will be doing something his brothers have not done! He is growing up and making his own way!

Demolition derby

Armada Fair

You would never guess that for as long as I have lived in Michigan
I have never gone to the Armada Fair- needless to say as a result
I have never seen the demolition derby-
well thanks to Cassie and Eve, Dana and Annie,
I can now say been there, done that!
I know, I know.....but it was a night out with the girls:)

I had my girls today!

Megan and Madison

I taught the girls how to play hopscotch,
the boys already knew how but it had been a long time.

I am not sure who had more fun!
It had been almost 6 months since I had seen them last.
We had a great time, slip and slide, sprinkler under the trampoline,
a water slide with the hose down the jungle gym slide.....
Not quite the same as Mrs. Doreen's pool but they seem to
enjoy it just about as much as swimming.

Guess Where?

If you guessed downtown Detroit your right!

We brought that boys to get some good books,
cheap.....one of Matts favorite days trips.....

Of course you know he can not go downtown
with out a trip to........the pastry shop where
he wants to spend the last minutes of his life...

Now you see why........

It was then off to Ford Field
where the lions were having
their first open practice of the
season.

at the end of the session a group of players
gathered on the fieled for a team prayer.......
I have heard of it but never saw it for myself,
neat huh?
When we came out of Ford Field we were in the
back of Tigers stadium, and the tigers were getting ready to play, we did not have tickets for this sold game but we were able get in a peak through the fence......kinda fun! maybe we can catch a game later this season.

Hart Plaza was having a soul and rib fest, so we made our way down there to get something to eat and walk along the river front, and of course what would Detroit be with out a little bit of basketball?????????

a nice way to spend a Saturday, and after 13 years we are still finding new things to due in Detroit.

Soak City

The two older boys went to Cedar point with the
youth group from CWC but mom was still hobbling along due to her recovery from surgery. We wanted to get out of the heat since it has been above 90 degrees for a week so we hit Soak City, the water park next door to cedar point. Mom taped up her leg real good since the stitches were still healing and off we went.

Daddy enjoying the lazy river...

Noah a bit taken back that the buckets
did not drop any water on him as he passed
under.....

Micah and Noah at the wave pool.......

Jason does not ride roller coasters so in the
afternoon he wandered into the water park,
we found him, or I should say he found us.

Micah standing under the big bucket in the splash Zone,
he loved it!

Noah enjoying a nice cold drink on a hot afternoon.

Outdoor Adventure

Friends of ours Bernie and Dena Long were camping and had invited us to tag along..... and while we did not go for the week I took the boys to spend what to date has been the hottest day this summer and we spent the day at the lake.
It was a lot of fun........

there were paddle boats and kayaks
and I had know idea Noah and Micah
even knew hot to maneuver one of those.....
they proved me wrong:)

Then.....go figure......the built a sand castle!
yes- eve the older boys got in on the act,
the picture proves it. I guess you are never to
old to play in the sand. While it wasn't the
Jersey Shore, it provided an afternoon of
entertainment and was very refreshing.
Thanks for the invite Dena!
