Yesterday went to Christ the King Church in Oxford.
Pretty good, nothing radical, nothing different. Similar in a lot of ways to what we were doing at Washington but double the people, and their facility, well not their meeting space for worship but their property in general was amazing. They sit on a lake, and every other Sunday in the summer they hold their services outdoors. Maybe we will check them out on one of those days. Often members or attenders will bring a picnic lunch and stay after church to swim or picnic and play ball or just plain old fellowhip. A few friends joined us and we hit Red Knapps in Oxford for lunch afterwards it was special. Good food , food friends and good fellowship.
Here is a link to check them out yourself. www.ctkc-oxford.org

.
The desire of my heart is to become the person God dreams of and share those dreams with others; to unleash personal and corporate creativiy within the church, overflowing it with passion and freedom while searching for the face and character of God.

I share your thoughts on CTKC. It has lost some aspects and it has gained others. I was motivated to lead worship again. Don't people throw themselves passionately into song leading anymore? I know some do, but it seemed to me a bit too sterile. Give me the reckless abandon type musicians! The kind who lead worship like it's their last breath. (sorry- kind of like a rant there) It was really great to see you guys too. Veronica needed to get outside after church. She cannnot stand sitting in a restaurant knowing it's nice outside, otherwise we would have hung-out...nothing personal.
Larry you may want to take a trip to La Plata Mryland church just to hear what they are doing musically, it was phenominal! Really. I do not think I have heard music like from a church period. Thye loved what they do! It will be hard to replicate but now that I know churches are doing it I want it! I understand about wanting to be outside it was a gorgeous day, maybe some other time you can join us.
